Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) is the final prophet and messenger of Allah in Islam, sent to guide humanity with the Qur’an and to perfect moral character. Muslims believe he is the Seal of the Prophets and a mercy to all creation.
Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was born in Makkah in the year 570 CE. He was known among his people as Al-Ameen (the trustworthy) even before receiving revelation.
At the age of 40, he received the first revelation from Allah through Angel Jibreel (عليه السلام). Over 23 years, the Qur’an was revealed to him.
مَّا كَانَ مُحَمَّدٌ أَبَا أَحَدٍ مِّن رِّجَالِكُمْ وَلَٰكِن رَّسُولَ اللَّهِ وَخَاتَمَ النَّبِيِّينَ
“Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but the Messenger of Allah and the Seal of the Prophets.” (Qur’an 33:40)
This verse establishes that no prophet will come after him. Islam teaches that his message is universal and final.
The mission of Prophet Muhammad (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was to:
وَمَا أَرْسَلْنَاكَ إِلَّا رَحْمَةً لِّلْعَالَمِينَ
“We have not sent you except as a mercy to the worlds.” (Qur’an 21:107)
The Prophet (صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم) was known for:
وَإِنَّكَ لَعَلَىٰ خُلُقٍ عَظِيمٍ
“Indeed, you are of tremendous character.” (Qur’an 68:4)
Even his enemies acknowledged his honesty and integrity.
